FW: Novena for Matt Coles

Hi.  Peace be with all of you and in your homes today.

 

I ask this favor of you today on this Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

 

I received the email below from Greg Gorman at St. Mary’s at Texas A&M.  If you feel so inclined, please commit to making the Novena asking for Zack Barcevac to intercede for Matt Coles.  This must be so terribly difficult for a young man to be diagnosed with such a disease especially on the eve of his marriage.  Pray for these folks, please.  Sorry to have emailed this twice to some of you.  As I was filling in the “To:” section, I just decided to let our whole community have the opportunity to pray for this young man and to ask for the intercession of Zack.

 

Be like Bartimaeus:  Pray!  Trust!  Expect!

Greg, the “Comunidad Del Cristo” is a small prayer group of friends and family that put up with my prayer requests and “meditations”.  I am sure that they will take up this mission with zeal for the love they have for God and because they believe in Christ’s command to “love one another”.

Dear Friends and family,

Here is a Novena that Michele and I are praying for one of the students that recently graduated. He and his fiancée, Lucy are friends of Monica/Victor and David. 

They are getting married this weekend and were very active at St. Mary’s. They are both remarkable young adults.

Just over two weeks ago Matt found out that the Asthma the doctors were treating him for turned out to be lung cancer.

 

Zack Barcevac was very active as a college student here during the 90’s and died of complications of Cystic Fibrosis in 2002. Fr. Mike used to say that Zack was  a saint, so some of the Catholic Aggies put this novena together. By praying this we hope that we will have a complete healing for Matt and the first verifiable miracle attributed to Zack Barcevac.

 

If you want to join us in prayer just say this prayer for 9 days in a row to complete the novena.

Intercession of Zack Barcevac

 

 

Most Blessed Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You have revealed that all things work together for the good of those who love you.  Through Your Son our Lord, Jesus Christ’s life, You revealed Your desire to heal those who are suffering for the glory of God.  Through His passion, death, and resurrection, You revealed the power of suffering borne patiently in love.  Filled with the faith, hope, and love that flows to us from You, O God, because of these revealed truths and knowing of your desire to bring glory to Yourself through forming saints into Your image and likeness through whose intercession You grant great miracles, we turn to You in this novena to pray for Matt Coles through the intercession of Your servant, Zack Barcevac.  We pray specifically for the perfect, lasting, spontaneous, and scientifically inexplicable cure of the cancer in Matt Coles’ body.  Through Zack, You revealed Your power in his perseverance in love throughout his life, passion, and death.  Today, through Zack’s intercession, we ask that You reveal Your power and glory through the healing of Matt Coles.  We ask this through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You Father and the Holy Spirit – one God forever and ever.  Amen.
